City schedules Growth Fund hearings

NEBRASKA CITY- The Nebraska City City Council is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Aug. 4.
The agenda includes Growth Fund public hearings for Nixon Enterprises and a housing study.
Closing of a portion of Eighth Street is proposed Aug. 5 for a crane to lift an AC unit onto the Sewing Basket.
The Tree City Trail Committee is planning to apply for funds. Blue Rivers Area Agency on Aging seeks support of $2,200.
The utility budget and staff re-alignment area also on the agenda.
The city made a counter offer for 1708 Morgan Dr. at its July 21st meeting. The city would pursue closing by Sept. 4.
Nixon Enterprise LLC is seeking a $125,000 loan from the Nebraska City Growth Fund to assist with land acquisition at 2124 S. 11th St.
The company plans to build a multi-tenant development in Nebraska City that includes a Jimmy John’s. The $1.75 million project is expected to create eight to 10 full-time jobs.
