Auburn loosens water restrictions
Utility downgrades emergency from level 3 to level 2

AUBURN - The Auburn Board of Public Works responding to improving conditions by ending its stage 3 drought emergency contingency and declaring a stage 2.
A press release Thursday says the utility will continue to monitor conditions and may go back to a stage 3 contingency if improvements are not maintained.
The utility says water conservation efforts remain important as the goal is to reduce consumption by 10 percent.
In a stage 2 contingency, water customers can water lawns on odd/even days, but outdoor water use is restricted before 10 a.m. and after 9 p.m.
Refilling of swimming pools is allowed one day a week after sunset. The splash pad will remain closed.
