Dangerous heat index forecast for weekend

NEBRASKA CITY - Hot temperatures are expected for the weekend.

A high temperature of 101 degrees is forecast for Friday with 57 percent humidity. Those factors calculate to a dangerous heat index of 129 degrees. 130 degree heat index is considered "extreme danger."

Saturday’s high is forecast at 99 degrees and it will be 96 degrees on Sunday.

UV index of 9 Friday is very high with 11 being the highest on the chart.

Concrete and white sand on the beach will reflect UV rays and can double UV exposure.
