TECUMSEH – A $500,000 bond has been set for a Crab Orchard man suspected of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of a deadly weapon on June 4.

A Johnson County Sheriff’s Office affidavit says Vince Schaffer, 63, was arrested after deputies searched a 728 Road residence north of Crab Orchard.

Court records say deputies reported 6 grams of meth and six long-bladed weapons at the property. Deputies say Schaffer is suspected of purchase large quantities of meth and of selling meth over the last several years to “street-level” users.

A class 2 felony can carry a prison sentence of one to 50 years.
