NEBRASKA CITY - Nebraska City police report that the subject of a manhunt Wednesday afternoon has left Nebraska City and is not a threat to the public.

Police Chief Ben Murry said the subject had fled the Iowa State Patrol into Nebraska and was suspected to be in the area near CHI Health St. Mary's and Senior Patio Homes.

The vehicle the subject was driving was recovered in Nebraska City, where it had been abandoned. Radio traffic indicated that a window in the car had bullet damage.

 

 

 

NEBRASKA CITY - Nebraska authorities are assisting the Iowa State Patrol in the search for a suspect in Nebraska City.

Police say Iowa alerted Nebraska law enforcement that the suspect had fled Iowa into Nebraska. Radio traffic indicates that the suspect had been tased and then fled.

Scanner traffic indicated an abandoned vehicle. 

Police were briefly assembled near Nebraska City Senior Patio Homes and CHI Health St. Mary’s. The hospital was briefly on lockdown near 3 p.m.

The suspect is described as a younger, black male in a (light blue) gray, long-sleeve T-shirt with Nike emblem and glasses.
