AUBURN - Zachary Reeves, 39, of Peru was sentenced to five to 20 years in prison for sexual assault in May of 2021.

A Nemaha County jury found Reeves guilty after a woman, who is now 28, told investigators she was assaulted at Reeve’s residence in Brownville. A guilty verdict was also handed down for sexual assault in July of 2020. A former employee of Zach’s Bar in Peru told investigators she was assaulted while she slept at a Peru residence.

The Nebraska Court of Appeals has reported receipt of an appeal in the case.
