 TECUMSEH - The Nemaha Natural Resources District Board considered trailhead projects on Steamboat Trace and took action regarding violations at recreation areas at its April 10 meeting.

The board extended an interlocal agreement with the City of Peru for operation and maintenance of the picnic shelter at the Peru trailhead.

The board also discussed a City of Brownville request to construct a trailhead on Steamboat Trace property. The manager was directed to work with the village on an agreement for the project.

The board also discussed rule violations experienced at NRD parks. Action was taken to revoke privileges at the parks for violators.

The NRD approved an agreement with Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy for beach and lake sampling. The agreement allows the state to compensate the NRD for water samples taken at recreation areas.

Revisions to the groundwater quantity management rules and regulations were presented. Potential changes to the ranking system was discussed.

Friends of the Riverview Nature Park presented on an urban special project application. Action on urban special projects is expected in May.
