Michael Anderson, 74 (formerly Hamburg)
Michael D. Anderson, 74, of Glenwood, IA (formerly Hamburg), passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Ambassador in Sidney, IA.
Michael Danley Anderson was born on January 21, 1951, in Hamburg, IA, the son of Jack and Betty Jean (Dimmitt) Anderson. He grew up in Hamburg and attended Hamburg High School, graduating with the class of 1969.
Shortly after graduating, Mike began his career as a truck driver and continued to drive for various companies until his retirement. He was a member of the Eagle’s Club. He enjoyed collecting guns, going to gun shows, and going to the range and target shooting as his health would allow. Mike loved his family and loved to tease his kids and grandkids. He especially loved sharing his love of music with his granddaughter Lucy, even finding an artist that the both loved from the 60’s. The thing that Mike seemed to enjoy the most was sharing memories of his childhood with anyone who would listen.
He had an amazing memory about his childhood and could still tell you the names of the friends he ran around with and stirred up trouble with, as well as countless other memories he probably wished we didn’t know about. Mike truly was a caring and kind soul, even if at times he didn’t always show it and made a lasting impact especially the nurses that worked with him this past year. Everyone who worked with him throughout his journey this past year had nothing but kind things to say about him and not because they had to.
He is survived by his children: Erica Moyer of Sidney, IA, and Aaron Anderson of Hayfield Minnesota; grandchildren: Lucy Moyer, Trevor Sieler, Maddie Klein, and Jack Klein; brother James Randall “Randy” Anderson; nieces: Heather Greeson, Jayme and Andrea Anderson and nephew TJ Anderson and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Anderson.
