NEBRASKA CITY- Nebraska City Area EDC’s March newsletter says GoodLife Agriculture is advancing toward final construction documents, including a re-design of its hatchery.

The EDC notes the company’s recent visits to sites in Norway, Germany, Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands and Sweden to network with competitors, vendors and potential partners.

GoodLife Agriculture is planning a $190 million investment in an Atlantic salmon production facility. The process involves raising salmon from egg to adult and using the water the fish live in to provide nutrients for aquaponics plants. The facility is expected to add 40 to 52 employees.

Also in the newsletter, the EDC reports a surge in business development opportunities with 10 companies visiting local sites.

On the housing front, four developers have explored the possibility of building 192 new housing units in Nebraska City.
