Happening now - Highway 2 was closed down shortly after an truck was reported on its side near Road 12. Visibility to a tenth of a mile. 70 mph wind in Page County, Iowa. 60 mph gust at Nebraska City. Thousands without electrical power in Cass and Otoe counties.

6:15 a.m. – Nebraska City Airport reports 44 mph wind gust

8 a.m. - Interstate 80 has exit and lane closures from York to Cozad. Blizzard conditions

8:10 a.m. – Blizzard warning for Cass, Gage and Otoe counties for next half day. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches with gusty winds. Impacts Wednesday evening commute. High winds until 10 p.m.

8:30 a.m. Snow covered roads Omaha west to Albion. Blizzard warning in Madison, Platte, Boone, Stanton and Wayne counties.

8:32 a.m. – 2.5 inches of snow at Seward, Columbus and West Point. 60 mph wind at Republic County, Kan.

8:43 a.m. – OPPD reports 12,000 power outages. Saunders, 4,316, Cass 692, Richardson, 41.

10:47 a.m.  – blizzard conditions at Denton. Portions of Interstate 80, Highway 6, Highway 34 west of Lincoln closed due to blizzard.

10:35 a.m. – NC Airport reports light rain and 44 mph wind gust.

10:55 a.m. – 2.5 inches of snow at Boys Town. 4 inches of snow at Gretna. 59 mph wind gust west of Omaha.

 


11 a.m. – OPPD power outages rise to over 30,000, including 15,212 in Douglas County.

1:37 – Visibility ¼ mile in Pawnee City. In Johnson County, 610 Road visibility to a tenth of mile.

1:54 p.m. – Otoe County deputies at incident at Bennet intersection, dispatched to accident on Highway 2 near Road 12.  Freight truck on its side.

  

3:23 p.m. – Avoca, Weeping Water, Manley fire and rescue call. Vehicle rollover Highway 34.

3:27 p.m. – OPPD reporting 92,000 outages, including over 56,000 in Douglas County and $14,000 in Sarpy County. There are 1,927 outages in Cass County and 1,019 in Otoe County.

2:40 p.m. - A 63 mph wind gust was reported at Nebraska City and 70 mph in Page County, Iowa.

4:20 p.m. - One inch of snow at Pawnee County

Thursday, March 20

OPPD reports 33,000 power outages remaining Thursday morning.

8:30 a.m. There are over 15,0000 in Douglas County, 7,000 in Saunders County and over 3,000 in Sarpy and Dodge counties. Cass has 677 and Otoe has 493.
