Nina F. Arthur, 100 of Nebraska City passed away on March 16, 2025 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City.

Nina was born on May 20, 1924 in Neosha, MO; the daughter of Frank C. and Emma (Schutt) Perrott.  Nina’s mother died in her late 30’s and Nina and her siblings were separated and raised by her mom’s siblings.  Nina was raised by her Aunt Clara.

She was united in marriage to Leon W. Arthur Sr. on March 30, 1942 at Pawnee City, NE.  They lived in and around Burwell, NE and Garfield County until moving to Nebraska City in 1955.

She worked in various capacities including bartender and waitress at the former American Legion and Elks Clubs.  She also worked at the former Fashion Crossroads, cleaned homes and provided care to the elderly.   Nina enjoyed sewing and baking, playing card games and word search puzzles.

She is survived by her sons:  Kenneth Arthur (Carol) of Omaha, NE, Larry Arthur (Donnette) of Nebr. City and David Arthur (Ellen) of Stockton, MO; daughter in law Cindi Arthur of Talmage, NE; 8 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Arthur Sr., a son Leon “Stump” Arthur Jr., grandson Chuck Arthur, and siblings:  Charles, Marie, Susie, Betty and Seth.

Even though she lived a hard life, she always had a positive attitude.  She was the glue that held the family together and anyone would be lucky to have a mother like her.   She was indeed an angel!

Graveside Services will be held on Friday (3/21) at 2:00 p.m. @ Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City.

Open Visitation is from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Friday all at Gude Mortuary.

Memorials may be given to the Nebr. Humane Society.
