Economic developer confident Falls City BioEconomy ambitions fit President Trump's goals

FALLS CITY – Lucas Froeschl of the Falls City Economic Development and Growth Enterprise told the city council Monday that timeline discussions at a county board meeting last week do not detract from Citroniq Chemicals’ commitment to invest in a manufacturing facility at the Mid-America Rail Campus.
Froeschl: “We feel good that the project is still a go.”
Froeschl told county commissioners that he had hoped that some financing through the federal loan program would be already approved and Monday referenced a News Channel Nebraska article headlined Clock Ticking on Falls City BioEconomy Ambitions.
Froeschl: “The clock isn’t necessarily ticking on trying to land the project. It’s just on a federal freeze. It’s more just ticking on trying to get the power in place.”
Froeschl told the county board that decisions should be made soon regarding some sort of on-site electrical generation.
Julie Bushell, the leader of Gov. Jim Pillen’s BioEconomy Initiative, said the Citroniq projects falls squarely in line with the Trump Administration’s goal of on-shoring and revitalizing American manufacturing.
Bushell: “We are closely monitoring changes across the federal landscape and will continue to educate the importance of this project to achieve energy independence and on-shore critical compounds while supporting rural communities.”
