OMAHA, NE - Four River Country wrestlers ended up at the top of their brackets as the Girls' State Wrestling Tournament concluded on Wednesday. Another ten local wrestlers secured top-six finishes!

In Class A, Nebraska City totaled 48.5 points & a 16th place finish. The team saw Makayla Vasser take the title in the 190-pound group. Vasser ended the year unbeaten after winning the championship battle in a tech fall, 15-0. Rylee Stracke also took a spot on the podium in fourth place at 125. Plattsmouth had one top-six finish with Olivia Garrean in 5th at 155 pounds.

Checking Class B, Conestoga had an impressive 3rd place showing with 79 points, Palmyra was solid in 7th with 62.5 points, and Louisville took 12th with 50. Conestoga saw Maggie Fiene claim the crown at 155 pounds; Kyler Zimmerman & Ava Ferguson grab 5th in their weight classes; and Jazlyn Espino & Alex Plowman finish in 6th.

Palmyra was the lone River Country team with two title-takers as Bettie Chambers took the top spot at 115 pounds, and Evelyn Bryan-Aldrich grabbed 1st at 235. Louisville's Catalina Jones was runner-up at 170 pounds, while Payton Thiele found 3rd at 105. Finally, Auburn's Hadley Mazzulla was runner-up at 100 lbs & Lucia Campbell found 4th at 145.

The CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha will hand the mats over to the guys for their state competition Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
