NORFOLK, Neb. -- Athletics Director John Erwin announced on Wednesday the resignation of Ben Bohn from being Norfolk High School's head boys basketball coach.

Erwin said Bohn officially resigned as the head coach for Norfolk High's boys basketball program following his three-years of coaching.

Bohn told the school administration he is stepping down to pursue career opportunities closer to the Omaha area.

“I want to thank the players, parents, teaching staff, and community of Norfolk for making the past three years an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience," Bohn said. "I will forever be grateful to Norfolk High School for allowing me to lead the boys basketball program for the past three years. The staff and administration at Norfolk High School was nothing but supportive of me over the course of my tenure as head coach. I enjoyed every day I got to work with the players at Norfolk High School. We have great kids in this program and they will continue to have success under new leadership.”

Erwin said NHS will start looking for a new head coach immediately. Bohn will finish out the rest of the 2024-25 season as head coach.

He had a 14-45 record as the Norfolk boys head coach. The team is 2-10 to start this season.

“We will greatly miss the leadership of Coach Bohn. His hard work and dedication to the boys basketball program will be hard to replace," Erwin said. "I want to wish him the best as he pursues other opportunities.”
