Marilyn Hall, 91, Nebr. City
Marilyn Hall, age 91 of Nebraska City, NE passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at her home.
Marilyn Nadine Christine McAfee was born on February 22, 1933 to Frieda (Schmidt) McAfee and N. Dean McAffee near Cook, NE in Otoe County on a farm.
She was baptized on March 19, 1933 at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Johnson, NE by Rev. Riensche and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Talmage, NE on June 9, 1946 by Rev. S. Haferman. Marilyn graduated from Talmage High School on May 18, 1951.
She was united in marriage to Robert L. Hall on August 26, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Talmage and to this union three children were born: Roger, Vicki and Susan.
Marilyn is survived by three children: Roger L. Hall of Lincoln, NE, Vicki J. LaRose (Steve) of Council Bluffs, IA and Susan C. Remar (Will) of Bella Vista, AR; grandchildren: Shane Sudman, Ryan Remar (Lena), Lindsay Remar, Jayme Andrew (Joe) and Becky Hall; great-grandchildren: Emma, Kyla, Alexander, Belen, Shay, Ethan and Anna; two half-sisters: Sherry Ramsey of Blair, NE and Nancy Crow; other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, her mother Frieda McAfee, her father N. Dean McAfee; step mother Lucille, brother Darwin McAfee, infant brother Dorman Dean McAfee, half-sister: Bonnie Roberson, half-brother Mike, step-sister Roberta Hartline, step-brother Don Janusek.
Marilyn was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She worked at Nebraska City Manor for 27 years before retiring in 1995. She enjoyed quilting, playing word games, and she loved spending time with family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebr. City with Pastor Theresa Brezenski officiating. Inurnment will be held at Camp Creek Cemetery at a later date.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (1/16/2025) at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
Memorials may be given to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebr. City.
