Former superintendent of the year resigns post at Falls City
FALLS CITY – The Falls City School Board held a special meeting Jan. 8 regarding a superintendent search.
A school press release says three consulting organizations proposed services to assist the board in the superintendent search process.
Presenting were Randy Gilson of McPherson & Jacobson, Jack Moles of the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association and Shari Becker of the Nebraska Association of School Boards.
After discussion search services, the board accept the resignation of Superintendent Tim Heckenlively and approved the selection of the Nebraska Association of School Boards as a search consultant.
Heckenlively was awarded the Nebraska Rural Community School Association’s superintendent of the year award for 2023-24.
He previously served as a North Elementary School principal and was superintendent for 15 years.
He holds leadership roles in the Nebraska Rural Community School Association and the Nebraska Council of School Administrators.
