GERING, Neb. — The Gering Police Department is investigating a string of burglaries that have occurred over the past several months, primarily targeting storage units.

Officers have recovered a significant amount of property believed to be stolen, but many victims have not yet reported their losses to law enforcement.

According to the department, while most of the burglaries happened at storage units, some of the recovered items may have been taken from homes, shops, garages or vehicles. Investigators noted that a recurring method in these crimes involved perpetrators using a metal grinder to cut through storage unit locks.

Authorities are urging anyone who believes they may be missing items but has not filed a report to contact the department at 308-436-5089. A list of recovered property is available for review.
