Gene Neemann, 53, of Tecumseh
Gene Alan Neemann, 53 years and 2 days, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly December 29, 2024 at his home in Tecumseh, Nebraska. He was born to Dale E. and June C. (Durman) Neemann on December 27, 1971. Gene was born in Tecumseh, Nebraska and grew up in rural Cook, Nebraska until his family moved to Tecumseh when he was around 8 years old. While growing up, he enjoyed spending time with his Grandpa Durman and going fishing with his dad. He enjoyed watching and playing football. Gene got his first guitar around 15 years old and has been jamming out ever since. Gene attended grade school in Cook Schools and transferred to Tecumseh at 8 years old until he graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1990.
Gene was united in marriage to Tina Troncin and to this union, Jacob Cole was born in 1993. He then married his wife of 24 years, Sheila Stephens on November 17, 2000 in Pawnee City, Nebraska. To this union two children were born, Wyatt James in 1998 and Samuel Alan in 2001.
Gene worked at various places while growing up. When he first met Sheila, he was working for American Lawn Care. He then worked at Kirkman's Golf Course as a greenskeeper. After awhile, Gene found his profession as a pipefitter doing industrial sprinklers with Total Fire Protection and Zachary. In recent years, Gene helped out Andre with KUDU Lawn Care. At the time of his death, he was self-employed. Gene particularly loved the outdoors. The family took annual trips to Indian Cave Park to soak in the beauty of the changing landscape in the fall. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting and night fishing on the river with son, Jake. He loved to teach his son, Wyatt local history. Gene had a huge passion for music, where he loved to write music and especially loved playing guitar with his son, Sam, and with good friends, Tim Stewart and Chuck McClintock. Gene also had a liking to do carving, which was anything from wood to stone. He also loved to partake in family time, and always enjoyed a visit from his grandkids, teaching them anything he could.
Gene is survived by his wife Sheila Stephens-Neemann of Tecumseh, sons Jacob "Jake" Neemann (Michaela Pooch) and his children Easton and Rainey, Wyatt Neemann (Michelle Wenzl) and children Charlie and Lennox of DuBois and Samuel Neemann and his beloved dog, Arvid of Tecumseh, brothers, Steve and Jo Ellyn Neemann of Auburn, Terry and Chris Neemann of Lincoln, Lonnie and Venus Neemann of Nebraska City, sisters, Kathy Hespen of Beatrice and Lisa and Jason VanWesten of Beatrice, nieces, nephews, parents-in-law Robert L. and Wilma K. Stephens of Pawnee City and many friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents.
A Private Family Celebration of Life Gathering will be held.
