Winter storm watch for most of River Country
OMAHA - The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch until Sunday evening.
Snow accumulations in excess of six inches are possible for portions of River Country.
Otoe, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee and Richardson counties are included.
There is a chance for snow today and Saturday afternoon. Snow is expected Saturday night, with a low temperature of zero and wind gusts of 21 mph.
The chance of precipitation on Sunday is 80 percent with heavy snow at times. The high temperature is forecast at 18 degrees with wind gusts of 21 mph. At the high temperature a wind chill of 1 degrees is expected.
The NWS's experimental GPS map shows the storm area from Highway 2 east of Lincoln south to near Wichita, Kan., and east to Topeka. There is a separate winter storm warning for central Iowa.
