BATTLE CREEK - Momentum didn't have a favorite team on Saturday night in Norfolk Catholic's 71-55 win over O'Neill St Mary's in the Battle Creek Holiday Tournament.

The Knights set the net on fire in the first half of play, seemingly scoring on every possession and spreading the ball around well. Eight different Norfolk Catholic players scored in the first quarter of the contest and they held a 23-10 lead after one.

The Knights picked up right where they left off, jumping out to a 28-10 lead early in quarter two.

St Mary's settled in and fought back with a few huge shots to bring the score back to single digits at halftime, 34-26.

The Cardinals rally rolled into the third quarter, as Gage Hedstrom and Logan Brabec led the fierce charge.

St Mary's not only tied the game, but took the lead in the 3rd quarter and capitalized on a buzzer beating three by Brabec to lead 48-43 into the fourth.

Norfolk Catholic turned the tables back on St Mary's, tying the game at 53 and turning multiple late turnovers into buckets, thanks to a full court press.

The Knights outscored the Cardinals 19-2 in the final three minutes of the game for the 71-55 win.

Norfolk Catholic saw big contributions from Gavin Schutt with 15 points, Max Hammond and Braeden Burbach with 14 and Hayden Kelley with 10.

Logan Brabec and Gage Hedstrom fought hard in the loss, scoring 22 and 21 points, respectively.

Norfolk Catholic wins it's 5th straight to move to 6-2, while O'Neill St Mary's slides to 7-2.
