BAYARD, Ne - A 10-0 run at the beginning of the fourth quarter helped the lady Tigers get a 33-27 win over Garden County Friday night in Bayard. Junior Alexi Nesbitt gad a game high of 10 points through 3 quarters. 

Sophomore Emilee Houchin chipped in 8 points while both junior Shelbie McKibbin and senior Riley Hopkins added 6 points. 

As a team the Tigers shot 15-of-19 from the free throw line going 78% and grabbed a total of 28 rebounds with 7 steals.

Garden County was led by junior Korryn Beberniss who added 6 points.

Senior Olivia Christiansen chipped in 5. 

The Eagles ended the night with going 50% from the line shooting 11-of-22, snatched 28 rebounds and added 9 steals. 

 

In the boys' matchup, Garden County captured a 64-47 win over the Tigers, led by senior Kade Collins with a game high of 23 points. Sophomore Javis Underwood chipped in 13 points.

Junior Wilsie Lobner and sophomore Kole Fornander ended the night with 9. 

Garden County finished the game with a total of 26 rebounds, 12 steals, and shot 11-of-19 from the free throw line. 

Bayard was led by Sophomore Connor Posey who went 4-of-5 from the three point line, and captured 16 points. Junior Anderson Gaarder added 8 of his own. 

The Tigers finished the game with a total of 19 rebounds, 9 steals and knocked down 6-of-14 free throws. 

 

The Lady Eagles will fall to 2-4  while the Garden County boys' improve to 4-2 and both teams will face Maywood/Hayes Center on December 30th. Lady Tigers improve to 4-3 and Bayard boys' fall to 1-6, both teams will start their season back up in the new year against Hay Springs.
