NEBRASKA CITY- Recent Otoe County court cases allege illegal possession of drugs and a homeless man setting off a fire alarm at a nursing home.
Cynthia Alger, 57, of Cassville, Mo., is charged in Otoe County with possession of Phenobarbital on Dec. 6.
A Nebraska State Patrol affidavit says Alger was arrested after a Highway 2 traffic stop. Two dogs were lodged at the Animal Hospital of Nebraska City.
Bruce Scott, 60, of Nebraska City is charged with possession on Dec. 14. Scott was arrested after an 11th Street traffic stop. A police affidavit says methamphetamine was detected in a vile and metal container.
Robert Rhoads, 41, of Nebraska City is charged with burglary and false alarm on Dec. 14.
Police responded to a report of a homeless man beating on the door of a 14th Street residence and arrived to receive another report of a disturbance at the nearby Morton House nursing home, where an alarm system had been activated.
The affidavit says Rhoads pulled the fire alarm to be able to steal food from the kitchen. The fire department was called to silence the alarm.
