Shenandoah Sweeps Nebraska City in Friday Night Hoops
SHENANDOAH, IA - Shenandoah turned in a doubleheader sweep of Nebraska City in Friday night high school hoops, as heard on B103. The Fillies dominated in a 62-28 win over the Pioneers, while the Mustangs picked up a solid 55-38 win.
Game one saw the Shenandoah girls improved to 4-1 on the season with a 62-28 victory over Nebraska City. Senior Lynnae Green was a force to be reckoned with, hitting for 25 points, while both Chloe Denton & Kalyn Scamman hit for a dozen. Denton also tacked on six steals & five boards. Tarryn Godsey led NC with eight points. The Pioneers are now 1-3 on the season.
In the boys' game, the Mustangs racked up the rebounds & free throw attempts to grab a 55-38 win over the Pioneers. Freshman Carter Sells led the host squad with 16 points and secured seven rebounds, while Logan Twyman hit for eleven points. Dalton Athen added in nine points & nine boards. The squad finished with 42 rebounds (13 offensive), and they went 12/23 at the charity stripe. Nebraska City was just 6/11 at the FT line with 24 rebounds total. The team was led by Brayden Earll's nine points & four boards. NC falls to 0-4 with the loss, while Shenandoah moves to 1-3.
