Former Central Nebraska Legislative candidate facing domestic violence charges
JUNIATA, Neb. – A former state legislative candidate in Central Nebraska is facing domestic assault charges following accusations he was repeatedly violent toward his wife.
Court records show that Joshua Frederick, 28, is charged with felony terroristic threats, third-degree domestic violence/assault and intentional child abuse.
The records allege Frederick physically harmed his wife on multiple occasions at their home in Juniata between Dec. 2023 and Dec. 2024, with the latest incident on Dec. 1, 2024.
An affidavit says Frederick became angry with his wife and dragged her across the house, threw her against a wall, then tried to throw her out of the house.
The Fredericks' three children, all under the age of three, were home at the time of the incident.
A county judge issued a warrant for his arrest on Friday.
Joshua Frederick ran for the District 33 seat in the Nebraska Legislature and finished in fourth out of five in the primary election.
