Students simulate congressional hearing
JOHNSON – Johnson-Brock and Conestoga students are among six teams competing in this year’s Nebraska State We the People competition at Nebraska Wesleyan University on Monday, Dec. 16.
The competition sponsored by the Nebraska State Bar Foundation features a simulated congressional hearing with students testifying before a panel of volunteers of attorneys, educators and civic leaders.
Students will also engage in a 10-minute exchange with the panel about historical, political and constitutional issues.
Since 2005, the competition has always been won by a Lincoln school. There are four Lincoln schools competing this year.
