Wind being blamed for two-truck accident on I-80 near Potter
POTTER - A collision involving two tractor-trailers briefly disrupted traffic on Interstate 80 late Sunday morning.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:45 a.m. at mile marker 46 near Potter when an eastbound truck-trailer crossed the median and struck the trailer of a westbound truck.
The driver of the eastbound truck, identified as William Chamblee of Pittsburg, Calif. was transported to Sidney Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the westbound truck, Tay Abdulwahab of Romulus, Mich., was not injured.
Investigators are examining the cause of the crash. Initial reports suggest high winds at the time of the crash may have been a contributing factor.
Potter Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department and the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene.
