Lions Clobber Cougars in Doubleheader Hoops Season Opener
LOUISVILLE, NE - The Lions defended their home court on Thursday, getting a doubleheader sweep of the visiting Conestoga Cougars to start the season for both schools. The ladies rolled to a 58-23 win, while the boys grabbed a 50-26 victory.
In the girls' contest, Louisville was led by Carly Haun's 13 points, while Kylie Gaston was close behind with a dozen. Both Noelle Larson & Allie Hiatt chipped in with eight. Conestoga was led by the five-point night of Ayla Garrett.
For the boys' game, the Lions got 13 points from Jase Ostblom & twelve from Keegan Witte. The Cougars had a pair of players lead the charge with six points apiece - Logan Lutt & Mason Merwald.
Conestoga will have its first home games of the season when it hosts Fort Calhoun on Tuesday, while Louisville visits Centennial for a doubleheader this Saturday.
