Update: A Facebook post says Susan Behrends has been found and is being taken by medical helicopter to a hospital in Alamosa, Colo.

 

NEBRASKA CITY - Nebraska City police posted an alert from a Nebraska City woman regarding her missing mother.

Billie Cooley of The Local Shop posted on Facebook that her mom, Sue, went missing while on a trip to Platoro, Colo., in a 2022 Ford Explorer. She said her mom made a call saying she was almost to the mountain region. Colorado officials say was near the Colorado border at 7 p.m. Sunday, south of Alamosa.

Susan Behrends of Excelsior Springs, Mo., is listed as endangered missing in San Luis Valley. The Conejos County Sheriff’s Office says the 65-year-old woman was last seen Nov. 17.

If you see Behrends or know where she may be, call 9-1-1 or the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office at 719-589-5807.

Cooley posted overnight that diagnostics on the Ford Explorer show that the car has fuel and is turned on, but the check engine light is on and there is damage to the control board.

Missing in Colorado is asking for volunteers to help navigate family members searching for Behrends in LaJara.
