Auburn's Football Season Ends in Wahoo
WAHOO, NE - The Auburn Bulldogs saw their season come to a close in the Class C1 Semifinals on Friday with a 59-7 loss at Wahoo.
The Warriors scored 19 points in each of the first two quarters to grab a 38-0 lead at recess. That lead built to 59-0 in the final frame, but Auburn's Brant Gulizia made sure the team didn't walk away without a score, running it in from three yards out with about five minutes to play.
Noah Bordovsky led the Warriors with three touchdown runs, while Caden Smart added a pair. Jase Kaminski also threw for three scores. Two of those went to Kip Brigham, who also ran it in once.
Unofficially, Auburn was outgained 387-111 yards, and they had all three of the game's turnovers.
Auburn wrapped its season with a mark of 10-2, and Wahoo improved to 12-0. The Warriors move on to the title match against 5-seed Central City after they defeated top-seed Sidney, 29-12. Kickoff is slated for 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
