FALLS CITY - The Falls City Land Judging Team presented at the school board’s Nov. 11 meeting after qualifying for national competition.
Program sponsor Brian Miller accompanied team members Bowdy Jones, Dayton Snethen, Malori Kuker and Taiylah Moore with the informational presentation.
Superintendent Tim Heckenlively said students discussed the two parts of competition – identifying soil and the sustainable management practices for that soil.
Jones was the district champion this fall and Snethen scored fourth in the state competition.
The team qualified for nationals by placing fourth at state.
Heckenlively said the team’s success involves extensive practice and memorization of land judging aspects and scenarios.
