Beth Jacobson
Beth Jacobson, of Plattsmouth, formerly of Murray, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024. Born on Sunday, September 20, 1925, in Nodaway, Iowa, to Raymond and Bess (Norcutt) McCoy, Beth lived a long and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beth graduated from Villisca High School in 1943 and shortly thereafter made her mark as a "Rosie the Riveter" at the Martin Bomber Plant during World War II. It was during her time at the Martin Bomber Plant that she met Clarence Jacobson. The two were united in marriage on December 30, 1944 in Villisca, Iowa. They eventually made their home on a farm West of Murray, Nebraska, where they raised their children. Her career later included ventures in Avon sales and work at a meat locker in Murray.
She was a member of the Lions Club, the Eagles Club, and the Murray Christian Church, where her spirit of service was warmly appreciated. Beth had a passion for bowling, playing Pinochle, and walking five miles a day. In recent years, she made her home at Bailey Pointe in Plattsmouth where she enjoyed visiting with friends and taking part in the various activities that were offered.
Beth is survived by her children, Robert (Cathy) Jacobson of Lincoln; Michael (Margaret) Jacobson of Avoca, NE; and Patricia (Duane) Thomas of Scottsdale, AZ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joleen (Don) Reed, Greg Thoms, Teresa (Terry) Lorensen, Doug (Laura Beth) Jacobson, Kristen (Heath) Rasmussen, her great grandchildren, Grace, Brandt, Cash and Hazel Jacobson and Tenley, Whitley and Kaley Jo Rasmussen.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bess McCoy, beloved husband, Clarence "Jake" Jacobson, her brother, Joe McCoy, her sister, Dorothy Steele, and her nephew, Johnny Steele.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Harvey Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Murray Christian Church in Murray, Nebraska with Rev. Adam Klinker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
