LINCOLN - The Nebraska Republican Party announced a filibuster-proof majority for the state Legislature following the general election.

A Republican Party press release says there is now a supermajority that will “usher in a wave of bold and purposeful policy-making during the 109th Unicameral session.”

The party says its goals are property tax reduction, implementing President Trump’s election security policies, growing the agricultural industry and enabling proactive lawmaking.

The party says it has registered 16,000 new Republicans since July.

Republicans also secured all five federal seats and says the delegation will support President Trump.
