NEBRASKA CITY - Katie Avard is an emerging artist who was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska.

Avard attends Peru State College and is currently pursuing two degrees, one in fine arts and one in graphic design. She's been honing her art skills since she was very young and has taken art classes any chance she’s been able to throughout her academic career.

 

Avard enjoys working in all kinds of mediums, both 2D and 3D, but painting with oils is what she does most often.

Some of Avard's early pottery will be added to the exhibit as well.

 She tends to work in a realistic style when painting and primarily paints portraits but has included a variety of subject matter in her work. 

The exhibit will run through November 25.

The Library will be closed November 28-30 for Thanksgiving. 

Access to the Kimmel Gallery is during regular Library hours: 9-6 Monday through Thursday; 9-5 Friday and 9-1 on Saturday.
