Otoe County favors Hallstrom by over 2,000 votes

NEBRASKA CITY- Otoe County is reporting a 76.5 percent voter turnout with over 8,000 ballots cast in a county short of 11,000 registered voters.
The county’s voters favored Donald Trump with 67 percent of the vote. They favored re-election of Republicans Deb Fischer, Pete Ricketts and Adrian Smith to congress. Ricketts and Smith received 68 percent of the vote.
For county board, district 5, Incumbent Republican Danny Crownover defeated Libertarian candidate Craig Bolz 1,240 to 589.
The county favored Robert Hallstrom of Syracuse over Dennis Schaardt of Table Rock by 2,100 votes. Hallstrom finishes with 55 percent of the vote with 4,644. Schaardt had 2,536 votes.
For Syracuse School Board the top three vote getters are Amy Wemhoff, 1,506; Tyler Kreifels, 1,331; and Brianne Neemann Wilhelm, 1,309.
The top three vote getters for Palmyra school board are Tim Cheney, 532; Jaimi Calfee, 522; and Brandon Desh, 402.
The Talmage sales tax fails on a vote of 48 against and 36 in favor.
The Unadilla fire district levy override passed 236 to 122.
Otoe County favored Initiative 434 by 55 percent were against 439 by 53 percent.
