Update: 

Falls City remains in recovery operations today after a powerful thunderstorm brought 90 mph winds on Wednesday.

The Falls City Utilties report widespread electrical outage, but posted that power had been restored to the majority of vital resources.

Auburn and Nebraska City electrical crews are assisting in the recovery.

Falls City Schools closed for the day.

The utility also reports the derailment of 13 cars on the south side of town.

Video posted by Ahern Aviation shows electrical explosions at Falls City when the storm line moved over town. There appears to have been a short-lived tornado.

UNADILLA - A severe thunderstorm warning was issued after radar indicted a storm over Unadilla at 10:40 a.m.

The warning includes portions of Otoe and Cass counties.

Hazards include half dollar sized hail.

Cook fire reports a tree on a power line.

A trained spotter reported dime to quarter-sized hail at Plattsmouth.

At 12:40 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for northeast Kansas with a hazard of 60 mph wind and penny-size hail. The storm was moving northeast at 70 mph. Emergency management reports a 60 mph wind gust in Seneca, Kan.

Mesonet reported a  75 mph wind gust four miles from Seneca, Kan. And 55 mph wind gust near Sabetha in northeast Kansas.

A severe thunderstorm warning for Atchison and Holt counties in Missouri until 1:45 p.m. A severe thunderstorm was located near Shubert north of Falls City and moving northeast at 65 mph.

The National Weather Service’s Automated Surface Observing System (ASOS)  reported a 90 mph wind gust at Falls City. Brenner Field at Falls City reports a wind gust of 47 mph.

Thunderstorm watch for Fremont County, Iowa, until 7 p.m.

Nebraska Public Power District is reporting 26 power outages near Verdon and 48 power outages south of Verdon. There is five outages at Stella,
