Nebraska City police qualify for impaired driver grant
NEBRASKA CITY - The Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office is granting funding assistance for an in-car camera system for the Nebraska City Police Department.
Nebraska City qualified for the $3,500 grant from highway safety impaired driving incentive funds.
Bill Kovarik of the Highway Safety Office said the equipment will be used in the apprehension and conviction of impaired drivers.
Kovarik said persistent enforcement reduced impaired driving crashes and reduces injuries and fatalities.
