NEBRASKA CITY – A district judge in Otoe County has sentenced 43-year-old Heather Schultz to a probation term concurrent with a 48-month term ordered in Cass County for attempted possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Schultz told District Judge Julie Smith she has completed nearly half of the 80 hours of community service that was part of the Cass County sentence.

A Nebraska State Patrol affidavit says a confidential informant purchased 30.5 grams of meth from Schultz at a Main Street residence in July of 2022.

In the Otoe County case, court records say Schultz received $800 from a confidential informant for two ounces of meth at a 12th Street residence. In her 36-month probation sentence, Judge Smith said Schultz told investigators she was addicted to meth so she could not hold down a job.

The judge noted that Schultz has since completed treatment, is doing well on her Cass County probation and is maintaining employment.

Also in Otoe County district court, a judge issued an arrest warrant Monday for Jordan Lunsford, 33, of Falls City after he failed to appear in court for sentencing on a meth conviction.

Judge Julie Smith said Lunsford’s participation in drug court was terminated on Aug. 6 and he was ordered to appear in court. Public Defender Michael Ziskey said Lunsford called him and said there was a blown tire on a vehicle.

Otoe County Attorney Jennifer Panko-Rahe asked for the arrest warrant saying Lunsford knows he would likely be sentenced to prison so a warrant is appropriate.
