FALLS CITY, NE - After a slow start, the Falls City Tigers got things going in the second half to knock off the Conestoga Cougars on Friday, September 13, 28-7. Falls City improved to 3-0 with the win, while Conestoga slipped to 0-3.

After a scoreless opening frame, Conestoga got on the board first with a Logan Lutt 9-yard touchdown run for a 7-0 lead with just 3:37 to go in the half. Falls City responded quickly thanks to a big 69-yard TD carry by Isaac Frederick just 78 seconds later. After the extra point, things were tied at seven going into the locker room.

Blakely Sells gave FC its first lead of the night with 7:56 to go in the third quarter on a 20-yard TD carry. Sells added to the Tigers' lead with a 30-yard TD toss to Orion Cattrell with 1:20 left in the frame.

In the final stanza, Frederick tacked on a 19-yard TD run with just over nine minutes to play to finish the night's scoring, giving Falls City the 28-7 win.

Unofficially, Falls City outgained Conestoga in yardage, 329-132, and the Cougars piled up three turnovers to the Tigers' one.

Falls City will host Concordia next, while Conestoga visits Yutan's place.
