FALLS CITY - Falls City public schools reported a general fund and special building fund decrease at its budget hearing on Monday.

The overall operating budget decreased 1 percent compared to the previous year with a general fund of $17 million.

The property tax request is $8 million for the general fund and $404,000 for the special building fund.

Property valuations have increased 9.5 percent and the school reports its property tax request is within the allowable growth percentage.

Enrollment figures this week show 808 students. The largest class is eighth graded with 69 students and the smallest is sixth grade with 47 students.
