Ronda M. Johnson, age 74 of Nebraska City, NE

Ronda M. Johnson, age 74 of Nebraska City, NE died Sunday, September 8, 2024 at her home unexpectedly. Ronda was born May 22, 1950 in Auburn, NE to Homer Leslie Craig and Nedra Elizabath (Pidcock) Craig. She attended school in Peru, NE and graduated from High School in Auburn in1968. She then graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education from Peru State College in 1971. Ronda completed a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln in 1978. She taught for 35 years in Elementary School with the Nebraska City Public Schools.
Ronda married Stephen Lyle Johnson on December 27, 1975. She enjoyed her teaching career in the public schools as well as at the First Baptist Church as a Sunday School Teacher where she also helped with AWANA and other outreach ministries. Ronda volunteered in CASA in the Community and with Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Nebraska City First Baptist Church and P.E.O Chapter CF.
Ronda above all else was a lover of Christ. Her faith shaped all aspects of her life; the marriage she built, the family she raised, the students she taught, and the countless friends and acquaintances she impacted. Ronda adored her grandchildren just as they adore her still. Her family and friends will cherish every moment spent and the hand made cards they received … for every occasion, every year.
Ronda was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Craig. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Johnson of Nebraska City, NE; daughter, Erin Cox and husband Cameron of Fircrest, WA; son, Nolan Johnson and wife LenaMarie of Harlan, IA; grandchildren, Caleb Michael Cox, Harper Elizabeth Cox, Callie Grace Cox, Annika Marie Johnson, Anders Craig Johnson, Elin Elise Johnson and Edwin Arthur Johnson; sister, Sandy Mathews and husband Tom of Rockford, IL; in-laws, Al Johnson of Plattsmouth, NE, Norma Shomaker of Nehawka, NE, Dan and Carol Johnson of Logan, UT; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, 302 South 7th Street in Nebraska City, NE with Pastor Keith Hunt officiating. Visitations will be open from 1:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, September 13, 2024 at Marshall Funeral Chapel in Nebraska City with the family greeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Nehawka, NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Nebraska City First Baptist Church or Whispering Cedars Baptist Camp in Genoa, NE. Online condolences may be expressed at www.marshallfuneral.com.
