Nebraska Public Media will televise first district candidate debate
LINCOLN – Nebraska Public Media is hosting a first district congressional debate between Republican Mike Flood and Democrat Carol Blood.
The 60-minute, televised debate is scheduled at 2 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the Ron Hull Studio in Lincoln.
Nebraska Public Media is hosting the debate in partnership with Nebraska Examiner, Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star and KRVN Rural Radio Network.
A panel of journalists will ask questions.
Blood, a current state senator and former Bellevue city council member, ran for governor in 2002. She was unopposed in the primary for the Democratic nomination.
Flood was elected to Congress twice in 2022. The first election was to fill the unexpired term of Jeff Fortenberry and the second was for a full, two-year term.
He is a former speaker of the Nebraska Legislature and owns News Channel Nebraska.
