TECUMSEH - Horse showmanship is a display of skill, dedication, and a good bond between the horse and the handler. It is all about presenting a horse at its best, showcasing manners, and overall presence.

A successful showmanship performance not only demonstrates the horse's training and conditioning but also reflects the handler's ability to communicate effectively with the horse. It takes a lot of work on the horse and with the horse to get it show ready. The handler must demonstrate control, precision, and a strong relationship with the horse through well-executed movements.

This year at the fair in Tecumseh, Nebraska, the Horse Showmanship competition took place. In the Senior division, Levi Othmer was named champion due to his deep connection with his horse. The way his horse obeyed him stood out to the judges. Makinze Gordon got reserve champion and a purple ribbon.

In the intermediate division, Brynn Weber did an amazing job handling her horse and would be awarded Champion. Riley Speckmann-McCoy would also go home with Reserve Champion.

Bowen Bridges would finish on top in the Junior division, as he stayed calm and collected with his horse at all times. Elliot Tripple got Reserve Champion because he was always in correct position.
