PERU, NE - The Peru State Athletics Department is excited to announce the hiring of Riley Shaw as the next Women's Basketball Assistant Coach.
 
Shaw comes to Peru State from Chadron State College, where she played and served as a student assistant coach. As a student assistant, she assisted with game preparation, statistics, ran drills and practice organization. Coach Shaw also managed player substitutions during games. When Shaw wasn't coaching, she served a Division II men's and women's basketball internship while at Chadron State. Shaw also helped with the Eagles' summer basketball camps. She helped develop players' skills while also being a group coach.
 
Coach Shaw is originally from Lusk, Wyoming, and graduated from Niobrara County High School. While at Chadron, Coach Shaw participated in a variety of clubs and organizations; she was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), a member of the Chadron State Athlete Mental Health Council and was also involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle group.
 
Coach Sybrant commented, "I'm excited to have Coach Shaw join our women's basketball staff. She has experience at the Division II level and played in a very competitive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Coach Shaw is a worker and has great energy. Her personality and relatability will help us in the recruiting process."
 
Shaw graduated from Chadron State College with a Bachelor of Sports and Recreation Management and a minor in Business.
