End of Watch Ride heads for Sidney, Wahoo

SIDNEY, IA - An End of Watch Ride organized by Beyond The Call Of Duty will honor Deputy Melvin Richardson at the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office in Sidney, Ia., from 2:45 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4.

A sheriff’s office press release invites people to stand together in honor of Richardson and 259 other fallen officers from 234 different departments.

A group of motorcycle riders from Washington is on a mission to travel 22,500 miles across the country in the End of Watch Ride.

The ride will make stops in Kansas City, Mo., Sunday morning before arriving at Sidney on Day 65 of the ride. The ride began June 1 in Washington state.

On Monday, the ride will go to Wahoo, Neb., in Saunders County.
