WASHINGTON ­– Today, U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) released the following statement following the assassination attempt on President Donald J. Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania:

“Bruce and I are thankful that President Trump has survived this assassination attempt, and we’re praying for the families with loved ones lost and in critical condition. The decisive actions of law enforcement on the scene no doubt prevented further loss of life, and we’re grateful for their bravery.”

OMAHA, NE – Today, U.S. Senator Pete Ricketts (R-NE) issued the following statement after a shooter attempted to assassinate former President Donald J. Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania:

 

“My wife Susanne and I send our condolences to the families of the innocent victims. I’m grateful President Trump is safe and that more people in attendance were unharmed. Political violence is anti-American. We need a full investigation into today’s assassination attempt and the information must be shared with the American people as soon as possible.”

13 July 2024/Bellevue, Nebraska: Senator Carol Blood, Nebraska Congressional Candidate for CD1 and sitting Senator for Legislative District 3 had the following statement in reference to the shooting at today's Rally for former President Trump.

"I offer condolences to those whose family members lost their lives today and am thankful that our secret service is the best of the best and did their jobs so eloquently today to protect the former President. Violence is never the answer and I hope this incident brings us closer as a country and not further apart."

LINCOLN, NE - The Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb issues the following statement on today’s shooting at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania:

“The Nebraska Democratic Party condemns all political violence. We are grateful to the Secret Service and law enforcement for protecting former President Trump and getting him to safety. We hope all rally-goers are on their way home to their loved ones. ”

“I have been briefed on the shooting at Donald Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania. I’m grateful to hear that he’s safe and doing well. I’m praying for him and his family and for all those who were at the rally, as we await further information. 

Jill and I are grateful to the Secret Service for getting him to safety. There’s no place for this kind of violence in America. We must unite as one nation to condemn it.”

 

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – U.S. Congressman Mike Flood released the statement below following the attempted assassination of former President Trump. 

 “I am grateful that President Trump has survived this assassination attempt. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the attendee who tragically lost their life and to those who remain in critical condition,”
Rep. Flood said. “Violence has no place in politics. I expect an investigation into the shooting to ensure justice and understanding of this incident.”
