NEBRASKA CITY - High winds on Monday, June 17, are blamed for a few down limbs in Nebraska City and a snapped tree at Steinhart Lodge.

Christopher McKim of Pelkie, Mich., told police he and his family were just leaving the Nebraska City Aquatic Center around  6 p.m. when they heard a tree snap. The tree broke about 20 feet from the ground and came crashing down.

McKim was able to back his Toyota Prius from the brush, but not without some damage. A second car parked nearby was also hit by branches.
