AUBURN – The Auburn City Council approved a memorandum of understanding with the Auburn Development Council.

The development council agrees to market Auburn to new and existing businesses, assist the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and maintaining accurate information on the LOIS website, Location One Information System.

The development council will assist the city and Nebraska Workforce Development to improve the quality of the area’s workforce, advance “shovel-ready” industrial sites and enhance quality of life issues related to skilled workers.

The development council will coordinate with Southeast Nebraska Development District for grant and housing programs, as well as tax increment financing.

An annual plan of action is required to outline marketing and sales activities.

The city shall support the development council with $95,000 at the beginning of the fiscal year and make monthly payments of $5,000 not to exceed $150,000 a year.
