FALLS CITY – State probation reported statistics to Richardson County commissioners Wednesday for District 1, which includes Gage, Johnson, Fillmore, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Saline, Thayer and Richardson counties.

Meeting minutes say there were 1,022 people supervised, 833 investigations conducted for the court, 53 juvenile intakes and 21,807 drug tests.

Chris Reece, problem solving court coordinator for southeast Nebraska Adult Drug Court, said there were eight participants from Richardson County in 2023.

Probation officer Melanie Stormer told commissioners they will be asked for $11,636 for probation funding next year, a decrease of $112. The county would pay $9,762 for the drug court.

Commissioners agreed to an interlocal agreement with Otoe, Nemaha, Johnson and Pawnee counties to fund the drug court.
