LaVonne Marie Rowe, 84, of Tecumseh, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the P.E.O. Home in Beatrice, Nebraska.  She was born to Ralph and Florence (Rudolph) Webber on September 4, 1939 on the family farm near Syracuse, Nebraska.  She graduated from Syracuse High School. LaVonne was united in marriage to Howard H. Rowe on July 25, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Syracuse. This union was blessed with two daughters, Michelle and Lisa.

LaVonne was the long time Hospital Administrator for the Johnson County Hospital.  She was an integral part of the Tecumseh community serving on numerous boards and committees including the Board of Directors for Johnson County Hospital, the PEO Home in Beatrice, Blue Valley Behavioral Health, PEO, serving as President of the local chapter and for the Tecumseh Methodist Church.  LaVonne enjoyed singing, directing the church choir, her Bridge clubs, entertaining, taking trips with Howard, reading, cooking and playing cards. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Nixon and husband Jeff and Lisa Kraus and husband Gary, both of Lincoln, grandchildren, Megan (A.J.) Muller of Omaha, Miranda Goracke of Phoenix, AZ, Lucas (Jamie) Kendle of Lincoln, Claire Nixon of Sweden and Chelsea (Christopher) Swelensky of Lincoln, great-grandchildren Rose Marie, Amelia, Cosette, Maeve and Adeline, sisters, Lois Thomas of Kansas City, MO, sister-in-law Patricia Webber of Grand Rapids, MN, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Florence, her beloved husband, Howard who passed Sept. 27, 2023, sister, Linda Webber, brother, Lyle Webber, brother-in-law Frank Thomas and grandson Garson Kraus.                                    

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024 at the United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, Nebraska with Pastors John Keizer and Ken Tubbesing officiating. The service will also be livestreamed on the Wherry Mortuary Facebook page for those unable to attend.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024.

Memorials may go to the Johnson County Hospital Foundation.

Inurnment will be at 10.00 a.m. in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
