Elmer Dean Sammons, age 83 of Nebraska City passed away May 14, 2024 at Prestige Care Center in Nebraska City.  Elmer was born April 24, 1941 in Norton, KS, the son of Harry and Alita (Burton) Sammons.  He formerly lived in Kansas and Julian before he moved to Nebraska City.  Elmer worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and did yard work for many years prior to his retirement.  He was an avid football and sports fan.  He is survived by his wife, Velma of Nebraska City; sons, Curtis Sammons and Daryl Sammons, both of Hutchison, KS and Daniel Sammons of Nebraska City; grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan, Casey and Alexander; one great grandchild, Stryder; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irene.

 

Private family services will be held at a later date.
